Look no further than this ALDI skincare review to discover if Lacura really does hold its place in the beauty and healthcare market!
Listen, ALDI has our hearts and our trust when it comes to their magical middle isle. The place where we find glorious Specialbuys – things we didn’t even know we needed until ALDI showed us that we did! But something a few of us are a little less familiar with is their Lacura skincare and beauty range. Available online, there are two things you immediately notice. Firstly, the super affordable prices are a more than pleasant surprise. Secondly, the names of the products make it clear. These products have the key skincare ingredients that we see in all the high-end product lines.
If you’re looking for affordable and effective skincare products, you might want to check out Aldi’s Lacura range. Lacura is a German brand that offers high-quality products at low prices. In this article, I’ll review the Lacura Favourites Set, which contains four of their best-selling products for less than £35. I’ll tell you what I liked and disliked about each product, and whether they’re worth buying or not.

UPDATE: One Year On!
The full review below was written almost a year ago – how time flies! My initial thoughts and first impressions of the Lacura beauty range were great. But, when it comes to skincare, it’s best to know the long-term review, right?
So I thought it was best to give this Lacura review a little update to let you know how I’m getting on with these products one year on.
I’ve ranked the products by longevity and use, and I’ve chosen my top 4 items from the range. These are the things that I’m still using every day or weekly, now!

Reviewing an Aldi Skincare Beauty Bundle
So, I was lucky enough to be sent a box full of Lacura products to try. And you may be wondering, what qualifies me to review ALDI skincare? Well, I’m just a normal working mum with combination skin, and not a whole lot of time and money to spend on expensive treatments to sort it out.
I need a daily skincare range that’s going to do three things;
- Suit my budget
- Improve my appearance
- Satisfy my desire to feel at least a little bit pampered
I’m hoping that the Lacura skincare range from ALDIhttps://tidd.ly/3P3BFct, pricing from as little as £3.49 will do all three of those things for me. Let’s find out!
Immediately upon opening the PR box the products were above my expectations…
Packaging, Ingredients and First Impressions
Rather than teeny tiny bottles with about 10 pumps worth of product, the Lacura range all come in a very generous size. They look like they would last you a couple of months, even with everyday use.
What is the Lacura Favourites Set?
The first product in the set is the Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser, which is a dupe for the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It comes with a muslin cloth that you use to gently massage the cleanser into your skin and remove it with warm water. The cleanser has a creamy texture and a pleasant scent. It contains cocoa butter, rosemary, chamomile, and eucalyptus oil, which are supposed to nourish and soothe the skin. I found that the cleanser did a good job of removing my makeup and dirt without drying out my skin. It left my skin feeling soft and refreshed.
One of the biggest bottles in the Lacura ALDI skincare mix is the Salicylic Clarifying Toner, £3.49. A 250ml bottle with a dispenser top so that you don’t use more than you need, it states that it’s ‘Formulated to remove impurities, leaving your skin feeling soft and smoother’.
Salicylic acid is a skincare ingredient known to remove dead skin cells, dirt and grime. It improves the look and health of the skin by purifying and exfoliating, and a product from a higher-end brand containing this simple component would cost you £5-10 or more as a starting point.
THERE IS A PERCEPTION THAT EXPENSIVE SKINCARE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CHEAP SKINCARE – AND THAT SIMPLY ISN’T TRUE.

I also really love the Multi-Peptide moisturiser, which comes with a pump mechanism, meaning that you easily get just the correct amount for hydrated skin – AM and PM.
Reviewing the Results of the ALDI Skincare Range on My Sensitive Skin
I have sensitive skin and allergies, and I’m prone to eczema, so I’m always cautious when testing out a product for the first time. Therefore I was really pleased to see that none of the Lacura products contained ingredients I’m allergic to. I have to check every time I use something new, and there are several ranges I just can’t use, for this reason.
The first application of the toner, cleanser and moisturiser was perfectly gentle on my face. Usually, I can tell within minutes if any harsh chemicals have irritated the more sensitive areas around my nose or under my eyes.
So far with the Lacura range (using it day and night for around two weeks), I’ve had no redness, itching or breakouts.
My skin feels softer, fresher and more balanced. I’d usually struggle with a particularly dry forehead while at the same time feeling oily in other areas of the face, but those issues, to my surprise, seem to be resolved since using this range.
There are various exfoliants in the range, including a pineapple scrub which is only to be used 2-3 times a week. The salicylic acid and glycolic serum are gentle chemical exfoliants, and I think the combination of them all has eliminated the flakiness I’d often suffer with.
Altogether the improvement in my skin clarity and texture has also made a better base for my makeup and generally brightened up my look.
The Standout Lacura Products Topping the List of this ALDI Skincare Review…
For me, my favourite product of the entire range has to be the Glycolic Serum. And I’m clearly not the only one as it seems to be flying off the website stock. It feels much more expensive than it is, and adds a real sense of improvement to my evening skincare routine. I could see and feel the exfoliating effects after the first couple of uses and I’ll definitely be buying more as soon as it runs out.
One that I wasn’t sure about at first was the £3.99 Rose Oil, but it grew on me – and here’s why. I mentioned earlier that when I first started using this range I was suffering from dry patches, particularly on my forehead. And putting oil on dry skin really isn’t it.
It kind of made me look scaly, and shiny in all the wrong ways. It was hard to apply and seemed like it just stuck to the first part of my face that it touched. BUT! After using some of the other products that were improving the hydration of my skin, it started to work a whole lot better. By day three or four it was applying on to my newly plumped and hydrated skin like a dream. Perfect for adding that extra bit of glow. It’s also an amazing base oil for derma planning and makeup prep.
Room for Improvement…
The Mascara. In my opinion, it’s not great quality. It seems to crumble throughout the day, and I could also feel it melting when I got a blast of hot air from my oven while cooking dinner. Thumbs down from me.
I would also note that the particular products I received, don’t really do much for blackheads – if that’s something you have a problem with. I would have loved to have some nose strips from the range! But it doesn’t seem like they’ve branched out to those – yet!
Lacura Products I Can’t Wait to Try Next…
I’m totally sold on Lacura! And I would definitely go back to buy more products and make some permanent swaps to my daily skincare routine.
I’ve already got my eye on their Jade face roller. I think it would make a really luxe addition to any at-home beauty sesh. I’ve wanted one for a while but didn’t want to splash out too much cash. However, this one is only £6.99.
I wish that when I was asked to do this skincare review, I remembered to mention that I recently turned 30. Anti-ageing is practically all I think about and I would have loved to have tried their Lacura Rejuvenate Night Cream.
Final Verdict: Is ALDI Skincare Worth Buying?
Overall, I think the Lacura ALDI skincare products are a great deal for anyone who wants to try some quality skincare products at a low price. The products are easy to use, gentle on the skin, and effective at improving the skin’s appearance and texture. The only downside is that some of the products might sting or irritate sensitive eyes or skin, so be careful if you have any allergies or sensitivities. I would rate the set 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who likes Liz Earle or Elemis products but wants to save some money.
