I’ve done some style research, and here are the top tips and tricks I’ve learned for ‘how to dress for your new Mum body’… and the lifestyle!

I don’t know about you, but after I had a baby I suddenly found myself with a wardrobe full of clothes I couldn’t wear.

Either they didn’t fit my new cup size, my new waistline, or my new sense of self as a mum!

Of course, loungewear will always be a godsend and my first love – but- as a working mum, there are plenty of days when I have to ditch my comfies and find something more smart-casual to wear.

Here are the top tips that I’ve come across while re-learning how to dress for my new mum body! Starting with, getting inspired.

There’s nothing like a bit of social media inspo to help you find your sense of style again after a baby! These three amazing accounts by Sarah @styleandtheboys Ali from @whothefrockisalice and Ayesha of @mumaporter are a good place to start!

Finding Comfortable Denim

I used to LOVE a good pair of tight, figure-hugging skinny jeans! They were my go-to for daytime looks. But now? Being a mum involves so much movement! Crouching down, crawling around, playing with little ones… a tight skinny jean is simply not practical.

The last thing we want is restrictive denim digging into us all day long – and perhaps squashing a few new curves we might have acquired.

Therefore I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect denim pieces – comfortable yet not compromising in style value!

EVERBELLE Ecru Denim Wide Leg Jeans – £28.00 Tu Clothing at Sainsbury’s

The wide leg style of these jeans will make them comfortable to move around in, and that, coupled with their hight waist, is what makes them a great choice.

They’re not restrictive and won’t impact your busy day-to-day activities.

And at the same time, they’re a stylish and easy option for putting a nice outfit together quickly.

Find these jeans in Sainsbury’s Tu Clothing range.

Dreamy Dresses That Flatter All Figures

If I had a wardrobe full of dresses, I’d be a happy girl indeed. Is there anything better than just chucking on one bit of fabric, and your whole outfit is DONE? Just like that!

Dreamy dresses with a flowy design are great, because they flatter all figures and can have every single one of us looking pretty in minutes. Pair them with trainers, heels or sandals to suit the day and your plans, et voila! Your look is ready.

What to Wear on a Mums Night Out

Whoever thinks that becoming a mum is the end of having a night out, was sorely mistaken. Hand the kids over to the grandparents, it’s mum’s time to relax and see her friends!

But, what to wear? Once upon a time (especially if you’re a millennial mum, like me) it was short, tight dresses that didn’t leave much to the imagination (eek!). Now? Not a chance.
