Save on Toddler Clothes; Best Zara Baby Dupes From H&M!

When it comes to toddler clothes UK shops can sometimes be lacking. I often find that if the clothes look great, the price is extortionate. And if the price is good, the fabric can be poor.

Two of the main high street brands that I really get caught in the middle of are H&M Kids and Zara Baby.

They’re the leading high street kids clothing brands for a reason…

H&M Kids is one of the very few brands that sits nicely in the middle of price and quality. The clothes are nicely designed and not cheaply made. You’ll often see price points around 8.99 – 12.99, on individual items and a good range of multipacks and full outfit sets.

Then there’s Zara Baby. Sigh. The thrifty, penny-pinching mum in me shudders at their high price points of 19.99 for a singular item.  But the fashion admirer in me looks at the item and swoons. It helps as well, that they have superior creative direction for their photoshoots, making everything look all the more stunning (I guess that’s partly what the customer pays for).

Toddler Clothes Trend Staple – Dungarees

So what do you do if your head is with H&M while your heart is with Zara? The only thing you can do. Try and find Zara Baby dupes on the H&M Kids website!

I’ve trawled both sites, comparing item designs and prices to find the best like-for-like dupes. Hopefully, you’ll find some toddler outfit ideas and even be able to tailor your choices to whether you want to go for elevated style, or just as nice for a better price.

Boys T-Shirt 3 Pack Comparison

This T-Shirt 3 Pack is a great dupe and price saver. Similar in style, the H&M pack is £8.99 while it’s Zara counterpart is a little more expensive at £12.99

Left H&M £8.99, Right Zara £12.99

Trainers For Tiny Toes

Left H&M Trainers 14.99, Right Zara Trainers 25.99

Toddler outfits are not truly complete without a cute little pair of shoes. The ones on the left, from Zara are £29.99 while the H&M version I found, are not hugely different in style – but £11 cheaper. The Zara trainers have a leather composition and a more grown-up colour palette. But kids are kids, right? Do they care about that sort of thing? In the end it’s a personal choice of the parent – do you want to go for ‘fashion forward’ or ‘pocket-friendly?’.

Toddler Tip: Toddlers should have their feet measured every 5 weeks or so to check for growth. Wearing the wrong sized shoes could result in more tumbles for your toddling tot!

Protect Them From April Showers

Uk toddler clothes always need to have wet weather in mind. If we only waited for sunny days to take our kids outside, we’d barely leave the house! So a good rain jacket is a staple for a toddler wardrobe. See below the H&M £9.99 dupe I found for a lovely Girl’s Pink Floral Rain Mac priced at £17.99 in Zara. There’s little difference between the coats apart from the £8 price incline…

Left H&M £9.99 Right Zara £17.99

Fit For A King

Left H&M Two Piece Set £9.99, Right Zara T-Shirt £9.99

Last season it was all about Snoopy, the season before that – Mickey Mouse. But this Summer The Lion King takes his seat on the throne for childrenswear trend icon. This time I’ve found a comparison that goes head to head on price – £9.99 each. However, at H&M you’re getting a two-piece top and trousers set for that price, whereas at Zara it’s a T-Shirt only.
